How to submit & pitch to Autisticly Me

Please read all of our guidelines carefully before submitting your pitch. We will respond to your pitch within 7 working days of sending.

What we would like to see:

  • We’re interested in receiving first-person articles that relate to Autism. These include the following: intersectionality, race, LGBTQ+, identity, relationships, politics, and personal life experiences.

  • All works must be original and unpublished.

How to pitch essays and articles:

  • Please outline the title of your pitch in the subject line of your email.

  • Explain your idea using no more than 150 words.

  • Include the word count of your essay or article.

  • Suggest headlines for your essay or article.

  • Send us a draft (if you have one) in a Google Doc file.

  • Send us a 50 words author profile - include your name (or alias), what you do and your connection to Autism.

Useful tips:

  • Make sure we haven’t already published something similar by searching on our blog.

  • Please don’t contact us on Instagram for updates on your submission.

  • Please don’t send your pitch via the Autisticly Me Instagram.

  • Please provide any hyperlinks, imagery or news sources to add context to your pitch.

By submitting essays or articles to Autisticly Me, you give disclose that the work you submit (1) is your original work, (2) is submitted to Autisticly Me first and only, (3) doesn’t violate any law, rule or regulation or the rights or intellectual property of any person or company, (4) complies to the mission of our community and publication and is not harassing, threatening, pornographic, hateful, racially or ethically offensive.

You give us permission to promote your essay or article on our social media accounts, including Instagram and Linkedln.

By submitting a pitch to Autisticly Me, you agree that we can store any text, photos, videos, audio material or any other content you submit on our third-party database.
